Design and Simulation

Dave has a book out on VERA which you may find useful.

Design

Sensor-Circuit Integration and System Partitioning Although I have not done any work in MEMS, it is a particular interest of mine, this link comes from section 5 of the report Microelectromechanical Systems in Japan from the International Technology Research Institute at Loyola College in Maryland. It is somewhat dated, the linked report originated in 1994.

Current work on MEMS is far advanced from the point it had reached in 1994. An updated report on Japenese progress is available here.

There is an organization MEMS Exchange which" coordinates a virtual fab, a network of fabrication centers that lets users draft process sequences which are performed across the boundaries separating the individual facilities."

Many Universities have MEMS programs, this is just a small sampling.

IBIS

Overview The overview by Intel Version 1.0

My experience

The major challange to the Independent Engineer is the lack of inexpensive tools which employ native IBIS models. Some versions of Spice have limited native capability but most require a tedious multi-step process. (Run the IBIS model through the IBIS-Spice converter, configure the spice file so it can be imported, import it and go) Good Luck by the way!
