He wants to get better suspension for his boat and asked for my $.02. I know nothing about what works well on the Mustangs. He was told by a Mustang shop in DFW that he should get a set of Eibach springs and a caster/camber kit. ;:Can y'all recommend a good set of shocks and springs? Will it need a caster/camber kit when lowered? ;:Thanks! ;:Dan ---- gt40 "Stuff like this really needs to be in the Wiki..." ! I'm going to assume this is for a street-only car. Short answer: * Front 1. Good alignment -- Maximum caster, -1.5 degrees Camber, 1/16" toe in. 1. Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber plates (will help with #1 above). 1. Lowering springs (do not, under any circumstances lower the car more than 1"!) FMS "C" springs work well. 1. Polyurethane front control arm bushings (be aware that they'll probably squeak.) 1. Maximum Motorsport Aluminum NON-Offset Steering Rack bushings. 1. Bilstein Struts * Rear 1. Polyurethane bushings in the lower control arms. 1. Lowering Springs (see #3 above!) 1. Bilstein shocks 1. Panhard Bar 1. Torque Arm (or remove one upper control arm for a Poor Man's 3-link) 1. Or you could just throw a set of take-off dampers and springs from a Mach I or Bullit at the car.
