On second thought, how about we not blame it on being Engineers. (!? But I are one, Southern edgycated, two ?!) How about we correct some commonly mis-used words/grammar as heard from the lips of Southerners.  Some interesting examples are:

* harmonica dampner, harmonic damper
* might-could
* might-can
* might-would

NASCAR on Fox's Larry McReynolds and Daryll Waltrip lead the way in Southern Mangled Engrish; help me out:

Oh boy, the spellin...

Seen often on mailing lists:

* Irregardless - Combination of 'irrespective' and 'regardless'. Commonly used by those who know the meaning of neither.

Making spelling more difficult than necessary, we have:

* delerin, instead of delrin
* wreckless, instead of reckless

Sounds like misusage too:

* The past tense of spay is spayed, not spade

* On Capitalization:
** Proper capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.
